Wow Gaz I love watching your playbacks the amount of detail never ceases to amaze me and if I'm right your using slightly bigger brush strokes than usual not as intricate but with the same fine results and quicker 20/10 again Gaz Fav+100 ツ ✰
Thanks for the great comment Micky, yes you're right I've experimented a bit with this one, and it has sped me up a bit, done this one in two days which for me is fast. I've been looking at Anthony cains Webb site again, he's a mountain artist based in llanberis. I watched him painting in his shop a few years ago and his attention to detail and accuracy in the mountain rock fascinated me, he studied geology and this refects in his art. I think this is where my love off doing the detail has come from, google him and take a look :-)
Well Gaz I've looked at Anthony cains webs site, his work is good and I have to say some of your work reflects alot of his art but I honestly think most of yours is better to say you use a DS, I can only imagine what you'd be capable of with a full blown tablet basically if I had to make a choice between his work and yours I'd go for yours every time ツ
I've got one ner ner ner ner LOL :D check out the only 2 pieces of art I've managed to do on it http://mickyduff.deviantart.com/gallery/?offset=24#/d45nosb or http://mickyduff.deviantart.com/gallery/?offset=24#/d45np7l just cant get away with it, I only wish colors would come to iPad then I might get somewhere with it until then I'll stick with the DS :D
I would have never guessed you could have made a mountain look so real with so many little lines. I try not to watch that many playbacks because it will just make me want to watch more but anyway I really like this one!
Thankyou 6alyssa, glad you like it, I used the thin lines mainly with color set to zero allowing the base colours to come through and mix, u can get some great effects with this technique and in my opinion lends itself pretty good to rock and grass ect, thanx again for the comment :-)
Well Micky I've had a look at your gallery, the two I pad paintings are both great, but I really love the weeping angel, it's absolutely fantastic, and it's yours, definitely one of my favorites you've done, yep me jaws on the floor again lol
6alyssa, lol no it's simple, eg if I want grass I'll put a very dark blue down, then change the brush to the thin line put it on yellow take the colour right down and scribble, it's just practice :-)
Cheers Gaz, I love angel pictures especially fallen angels :D can you not get Mrs Gaz to treat you to an iPad try battering your eyes at her give her the old puppy dog eyes you'll have one by tomorrow LOL :D... hows the t rex coming the new challenge this week is dinosaurs I've left a link in my Young and Old pictures comments you should have a look :D
Hi Micky, well I tried my best puppy dog look and crashed n burned, mrs gaz has kindly pointed out that the washing machine is on the way out, she even mentioned the word overtime, it was at this point I realized I'd got more chance of plating fog than gettin an I pad, so I quickly abandoned the subject lol :-D, done a bit more on Dino yesterday but don't think he will be done in time for the challenge unless I rush him, he's still doin my head in lol.
Went to the challenge link through the Facebook page, if I'm honest I didn't really understand how u enter.
Congrats on your win, ace gallery by the way, :-)
A washing machine tell Mrs Gaz to get her priorities right lol you cant draw on a washing machine what's more important your creative talents or getting the clothes clean LOL.. Yer it does look quite complicated to enter the challenge but really its quite easy I'll not go into detail here but if there is a time you want to enter let me know and I'll ask one of the admins to post a how to somewhere :D. I've put Dragons Reflection on the back burner for now and been drawing kittens instead lol which I'm posting shortly :D
