Pocahontas was based off a true story, however Disney changed it around so Pocahontas would have a love interest (to entice younger audiences)
In the movie, she's around 16-17 I think, but in history, she was 12. Her supposed "love interest" in the movie was around 20-25. In history.... He was 32. They had no real romance and only married to prevent war between the English settlers and the Natives. The "love interest" was her teacher (for English)
