oh!! i dont know german nor have i tried to learn it, but it always is fascinating how there is such words like that in languages, ex. Spanish.
growing up, speakers are forced to put their mind into sorting what objects are feminine or not. spanish has el, la, for this. (la manzana) you are forced to personify the object and see it with human qualities, just to present it in a sentence. it puts into mind how a language can influence what we think and how we identify things!

+ and at this, it is all voided translating and/or interpreting languages that have this into english, because it is simply put as 'the'. i believe this limits people who know english to some limit, since many languages have many grammatical rules and words for special situations.

@-_Lunar_- I speak German and I completley agree with you using der,die,das etc is like a normal thing to me I just use it if it sounds right but for people who are trying to learn it I understand the difficulties like I cant even explain the rules for using der, die, das etc (i believe there aren't even rules that completely explain it) ;-;

I learned a bit of german in school and it's weird how the formal way of saying goodbye in german is like over 12 letters "Auf Wiedersehen" or whatever it is I forgot
