Dragon sculpture made to hold a locket necklace as a birthday gift for a friend.
I asked her what she'd like me to make for her birthday, and what her favorite color(s) would be, and she said "anything fantasy related" and "purple".
Materials used:
Armature wire
Aluminum foil
Super Sculpy clay (II and III)
Smart-craft soft clay (flexible when cured)
black sparkle clay (gold flakes)
paint colors:
Pearl white (with opalescent medium)
midnight purple
violet
pale blue
gold
(edit)
Had this blueprint finished since September, but didn't want to share this until after she received her birthday gift to avoid spoiling the surprise.
The Colors! Gallery moderators will look at it as soon as possible.

This makes me want to pull out my clay supply and make something. The design of this is great, and the color pallet is well chosen.
Did you use the flexible clay to enable posing, or was it to reduce the chance of the dragon breaking?

Thank you for the compliment. : )
@OracleofGelu
The smart-craft brand clay was used on appendages like the legs, arms and wings to prevent breakage, and give the arms a bit of give-and-take so that the necklace locket can be removed and replaced safely and with ease.
