*sans and papyrus were created by gaster as an experiment to see if it would work. that's literally it
*gaster actually treated both of them pretty well, but when he was working on wires in the CORE, he fell in when sans was 10 and papyrus was 7
*after that, both the skeles were taken to snowdin by asgore when alphys found out (she was working with gaster and sans told her)
