some kanji have different even if they are the same.
For example,
「大」 for example,
「おお」、「だい」　と読めます
「小」 for example,
「ちい」、「しょう」　と読めます。
Other kanji have these readings.
And there are kun-yomi and on-yomi readings for kanji.
