What’s that crawling along the ceiling? It’s day 8 of spooktober! The hint for day 8 was a long one, and @Abstract_Mazie got it right almost immediately!

“The tearful queens's eight watchmen stood back to back atop a black tower, carefully monitoring all directions. Eight foot soldiers waited at the base, ready to move in unison at a moment's notice. As the apothecary prepared the poisoned daggers, and the spinstress wove her fine silk thread, a crimson-haired timekeeper sat quitely in front and contemplated the horrors to come.”

The answer? A black widow spider!
