It's progress in the right direction. : ) I've made lots of experimental sketches whenever I get an idea. I rarely share them here though. Sometimes it comes in the form of a basic doodle or scribble in which I attempt the thing that came to mind, and if I see potential in the results, I'll put it to practice in one of my already finished paintings. If I like the results there as well, I'll make a new painting focused around utilizing this one thing.
Just some food for thought.
