The lantern-man and the wherry-man (redux) by Pa_Kalsha

Addressed issues with the wherry-man's pose that really started to bother me after I uploaded the picture.

In order to avoid the terrible fate met by those who draw the attention of the lantern-men of the East Anglian fens, never carry a lantern or a torch, as the Lantern Men were always attracted to the light. Never whistle, because Lantern Man would always run towards a whistle and kill you if he was able. Finally, never, ever, mock the Lantern Man.

If you find yourself caught in their light, hold your breath, or else they will steal it from you. Advice given by one old man was that, "If the Lantern Man is upon ye, throw yourself flat on your face and halt ye breathing". Maybe then you will survive the spirit's attention.
