Anywho he's not infected, but he got rid of bon bon because he was showing the symptoms.
He reset his own programming afterward to give himself a fresh start without bon bon, so he's now set as the original children's entertainer, jokes and gags, goofy personality, and complete obliviousness to his dark design choices.
