@sourscreen you used to be able to access the gallery/colorslive from the colorsds software itself but to quote collecting smiles- "The ability to browse colorslive.com and upload paintings directly from Colors! for Nintendo DS was deprecated in 2017."
colorsds, being homebrew for the DS, required a flashcart with a micro SD adapter to even access(nowadays with a modded 3ds just an SD/micro SD)
when you save your art the program generates 2 files to the SD- a .png file(before you start the playback thats what you see), and a .drw file(this is the playback information)
to upload your art you need to transfer those files to a pc, go to the colorslive website, log in, click on "account settings", then "upload", that brings you to a page specifically for uploading DS art, where-in its asks for said .png and .drw files
tl;dr colorsds doesnt let you access the gallery from it anymore, you have to use a pc
id look into a homebrew software called "nimbus" or sometimes called "pretendo", its a sort of server replacement allowing some 3ds titles to access some online features(it allows you to look at the gallery and upload art in c3ds)
but be careful with installing any homebrew obvi
also if you have badges on your homescreen, and you use nimbus/pretendo, then your badges dissapear- dw just go back into nimbus after doing what you need to and switch back to "nintendo", they will reappear
