What if Pokémon had to find items like Apricorns, plant seeds, small boulders, used discarded evolution stones, other items like Lucky Eggs in order to make baby Pokémon Eggs by using the apricorn or other item like a pokéball to contain the energy of the new hatchling's parents. And the object they use durring that turns into or 'evolves' into a Pokemon Egg.

It runs with a statement by an NPC in X & Y where he says Pokémon eggs aren't eggs but just containers for parental Pokémon to store baby Pokémon.

actually, it's good that Pokemon didn't put that in their canon, otherwise i'm not sure fanart would be any less weird considering that one M rated 3DS demo game
