Lexi's Adventure Crossing the Rainbow Bridge by Arctic_Mew

On 8/12/2024 @ 8:30 AM - 9:00 AM my 9 year old dog Lexi has been put down

Lexi was a lovely dog to have around, she was so happy. Lexi used to dig in the trash and put her paws on the counter all the time. It's been a week and two days since Gracie passing.

Lexi had cancer, she was bleeding internally, the vet was shocked to see Lexi was alive since there were barely any animals that lived. There were no signs, we couldn't save her, we had to put her down

I'll miss you, Lexi Loo Loo ♡♡

Update from 8/13
We're getting a new dog! He's a 1 in a half year old German Shepherd, depending if he gets settled and comfortable we'll be able to keep him, we're getting him today (8/14), his name is Tucker (the name of one of my old classmates), so I'll have to call him by a nickname of some sort or just call him 'buddy'

My dog Coconut is a very playful dog and so is Tucker, Tucker is docile and loves to play, he doesn't care abt cats, so he'll just ignore Bella hopefully.

Update from 8/13

I decided I wanted to train Tucker since German Shepherds are one of the smartest dogs. If I train him enough cool tricks then I'll do something with him in the talent show, I'll have to send a video to the school though (I don't have a phone :'/), so I might just ditch the idea

Also in case if y'all are wondering "Why can't you just keep her for one last day to say goodbye?"

Answer is that Lexi would've been gone if she wasn't put down, Lexi was very strong and lucky to even survive since most owners would've found their animal gone.
Lexi couldn't even jump on the bed, she didn't even have the strength to move a lot because she was suffering, she wouldn't eat her goodbye treats.

I'm so happy I gave the dogs 2 meals in a row with some treats in them (8/5 and 8/6)

Update: Lexi had cancer in her spleen (I think is how you spell it), she has been fighting for awhile, we don't know how long, the cancer has no symptoms, when Gracie died, Lexi stopped fighting for her life and let the cancer take over her body
