Thanks heh. well truthfully I interpret backgrounds by seeing through the darker colors as you can see in my process of beginning with a base tone/color.
I work from there and just place what I believe has its place in the painting in the place where I see it belongs. Or correct and correct till It's right for me :)
That's a bit more difficult for me to do haha. For one, i'd honestly be afraid to draw something over a background like that for fear of destroying it/making something outta place. Maybe i'll try to practice on color tones and what works well, i'm more of a pencil sketch artist, so colors are a bit alien to me :(
Well Omunall, great thing about colors is you can save a copy and work on it and mess it up while not having to worry about the save. I usually have about 4 saves of each picture that lack what the finished piece has lol.
You know...I feel a bit dumb now...haha. I didn't think about saving and making a BG first, sketch out a few things after and re-loading.
Now I need to go draw something. I've got this idea for drawing a black and white lake photo with nessie in it, but the joke of it is nessie will have a mohawk. Sort of like "proof! Nessie has a mohawk"
Lol
