age regression is a mental and emotional state where a person reverts to a more child like mindset,, it is used to cope from trauma, but it can be caused by stress, anxiety, or just as a way to dissociate/escape from the real world.
I blocked out my childhood up until i was 9-10 due to trauma, SA, etc. so its a way of "reimagining myself/my past" to heal if that makes sense
TDLR : Its a mindset where you act/feel as a you are young child, it is a coping/healing mechanism
