I've seen this challenge be done by some artists where they take one of their childhood drawings and remaster it. Thought I'd give it a try myself.
I see some of you young up-and-coming artists feel like you don't really measure up as an artist yet. That's okay. You'll get there in due time. :smile_cat: If you love to draw, keep at it. You'll figure it out. Take art classes in school when you get the chance, it'll help a lot.

This kind of comparison always makes me laugh, but also gives me motivation to continue practicing my art skills.
The pattern on the inner wing membrane reminds me of a Rathalos.

I still feel that way sometimes. XD I've gotten a little better at putting it on paper, but it's still a struggle to get it right on the first try or two.
And no, you did in fact take art school courses. It's called -The University of YouTube-. You can learn just about anything there. :P Tell me I'm wrong.

My hope with this is to inspire other aspiring artists to see their potential, and ancourage them to press on in much the same way.
As far as those inner wings go, I sew that the original's were drawn with grey stripes and tried to find some way to reimagine that. I tnought to go with grey lightning bolt stripes on a peach colored webbing. I got about half way finished with those wings and realized the same thing about them. Finding no better way to redo them, just decided to go with it.

20 years from now, you'll look back at the long road you've walked and wonder to yourself how you ever managed to get so far. Thanks for the comment by the way. : )
@Pokopin_
A lot of my doodles have disappeared into the nether as well. If I remember correctly, this one was preserved and put in my keep-sake box because I was really proud of myself back then. My mother was very good about preserving my sibling's, and my childhood memories in our own boxes.

On the outside, I appear all grown up.
On the inside however, I still feel like a child some days. And I try to enjoy what's left of that youth while I still have some youth left in me.

I love it to see the development of our drawings... When I think back to how I used to draw people, for example, I notice how much my way of drawing has changed. The more you draw, the more beautiful the drawings become. But when I look closely at my earlier drawings, I can see a few details that remind me of my current drawings. But I think we have all always drawn beautifully. We just have a different perspective and higher standards for our drawings now.

@Nooki_Rage
That's quite deep. A lot can be said about that. I think you are right. In a way, looking at your childhood art, then comparing ot to your current progress is a lot like looking at a childhood photo, and comparing it to you now. It's as though your doodles and other forms of art grow up along with you.

Hiya! Are you taking requests please? :)
03 Jul, 2024, 3:54 am
@-OneAddition-
I'm not taking requests at the moment. There's still a lot I want to draw, but balancing requests and other ptojects I want to do just takes too much wind out of my sails. I might open it up again in the future, but for now I'm working on managing other priorities.
