But! All the monsters refer to Frisk as they/them. They are gender natural, so they don't technically HAVE a gender, but again, it's up to the player.
So, if you do decide Frisk is a girl, that's okat too :3

Also, calling them a pumpkin, is just like saying baby or beautiful! Maybe the rock is just older and says that to the kids who knows :/
