I don't think I ever would have considered campfire grapos as an option. I'll have to consider that next time I have an open fire/camp trip.

Put grap on stick
Begin roasting said grap
It will begin screaming. (air escaping)
When it is done screaming and the skin splits, it is done.
Sounds REALLY morbid, but it works.
Screaming might be very quiet, but generally it can be heard over the flames.
