Perhaps I should be more clear about my thoughts. I was thinking about the way people act in society, and how it is very different now compared to how they acted in the days of your youth, and even in my youth.
What were things like for you living in the 1970's? Were they better than things are now? Or are you more positive and hopeful for what the future holds?
@The_Adjudicator Things certainly were cheaper that's for sure! I'm ¼ Filipino so I experienced discrimination at times unfortunately. America was getting more progressive at that point so it wasn't to bad for me. I lived in San Francisco in the 70's so I met some black panthers and hippies. I'll tell you this in the 70's the youth was undoing the mistakes the mistakes from the previous generation. Of course the Vietnam war was tough on America but us teens were pretty open-minded!
@The_Adjudicator To answers your last question I think kids today have the same spirit as us in the 70's. I love how they're teaching about acceptance and I love how social media has given them more opportunitys for cultural exchanges! Of course every decade has it's problems and there has never been a perfect "time to be alive", but the 70's and today sure are great!
@Mae_Ellison I'm glad you're optimistic about the circumstances of the day as well. : ) You make a great point about progressive peaceful ideals. I can only hope we can work together to a peaceful end. The generational trauma of our world's history can end with the youth of this generation.
Very cute! One question, what was America like in 70's? For some understanding why I'm asking this: I was born in Russia and still don't get why some people call the 60's, 70's, ane 80's "peak America"
