Title: Is my friend overreacting when his ex tries to interact?

Background: My friend, we'll call him Arlo, and his ex, we'll call her Splatoon, met on an app not intended for dating specifically. Back in this time, I believe Arlo was going by she/her (he's trans) but I wasn't around back then. They eventually broke up, I believe Arlo realized Splatoon was gaslighting him.
I do have full consent from Arlo to make this post, not Splatoon but if we did that would defeat the purpose. I'll try to explain with little bias but in a bolded section.
Fast forward to now, and these few prior months. On this app, you can make little 'DNI' meaning Do Not Interact. Arlo has one, having a few people on there including Splatoon. Arlo often tries to joke about this believed toxic relationship. These jokes really piss off Splatoon. She posts on this app blowing up on not just him but anyone who tries to defend Arlo. Mind you, she is doing this WHILE IN ARLO'S DNI. She should not be interacting and several people tell her this periodically, including Arlo. But she's following and watching his account anyway.
Splatoon makes posts saying things like "I want this to be over. I'm imperfect, I make mistakes! Now LEAVE ME ALONE!" when Arlo wasn't talking to her nor wants anything to do with her. Eventually things calmed down for a tad bit and Arlo took his ex off of his dni. Well she noticed and followed him again. Arlo added her back and blocked her but Splatoon can still follow him, and she is. She goes into his posts after being asked not to many times by Arlo himself.
She refuses to belive that she could possibly be in the wrong, and Arlo is honestly just trying to politely move on.
Bias time! I am on Arlo's side for sure. He's really nice and funny and shouldn't have to deal with this narricist ex. You could argue that Splatsoon is hurt by the posts but she shouldn't be seeing them anyway. She's supposed to DNI but refuses. She deletes any comments against her, and a lot of people take her side. Its crazy IMO.
