Hey, everybody!
It's been forever since I posted something on here... I've only really checked back every once in a while.
But with the 3DS' online servers shutting down, I wanted to revisit and post a few more things. An actual, proper goodbye to Colors for the 3DS.
I didn't make a real goodbye picture at first, because I didn't think I was done here! It turns out, I'm not a huge fan of Colors on the Switch. I think with time and practice I'd get used to it, but it's not really been my thing. Maybe at some point I'll post something from there.
Colors is still a very special place to me. I've met so many wonderful people on here and it still feels like home. This was the first ever art community I was a part of, and it's been far more of an amazing experience than I could've imagined. I'll likely always be around off and on, even if I don't post much.
I've got old pictures, but sadly I don't think I'll be able to draw many big new ones before the servers are down. (I've got college classes and a little part time job.) But I do think I'd like to try and give the best sendoff to 3DS Colors that I can!
Now, a bit more about this girl here... This is of a character inspired by a wacky joke in the old SKeys RP--the War Maiden of Texas.
I want to say it was an autocorrect incident? I don't actually remember where it came from anymore. I just know this design and a conceptual /entire world/ named Texas came out of it! XD

The Colors! Gallery moderators will look at it as soon as possible.

Judging from where it is in my offline gallery, I believe this is from late 2021?
This girl is definitely going to get more love in the future. Probably a redesign and a whole new story, too.

@-Vero- Thank you!
I still have a fondness for her name and story. I just gotta figure out what to do now that the story she was previously in has changed!
@ShadowPikaboo Thanks!
...Was the War Maiden of Texas an autocorrect thing with your phone? I forget whether it was or not. XD
@PoodleKingdom Hey! Great to see you too!
Your art is looking adorable! You've gotten even more skilled since the last time I was here. ^v^

I am uncertain about the future for colors 3d users but I also believe that as long as you can connect to the internet you should be able to post on colors on the ds still? we'll see what happens I guess. :'x

Wow, she looks powerful and amazing! Right down to the scales. And wow you make a desert look good! XD
As someone who is looking to go from the 3DS to the switch, your thoughts do make me nervous. Then again, nothing beats the feeling of drawing on the 3DS. TuT

@PoodleKingdom Thank you! X)
Ahhh, that would be nice to be able to keep posting things! We'll have to find out. ;v;
@Puzzled Thank you so much! I remember really getting into the scales. XD
And sorry! I didn't mean to make you nervous!
The Switch definitely feels different, but there are similarities! There are also a lot of great tools on it that aren't on the 3DS, like the move tool and the ability to add even more layers.
I had a bit of trouble getting used to the bigger canvas size and the new soft brush--but there's a lot to have fun with, still!

Soooooo cute and fluffyyyyyy!!!! Such a precious gal!!! Man, I'm gonna miss drawing on here as well. I'm just not fond of the idea of using my Switch as a tablet. And I still hate the stylus. But at least the memories and friends that was made on here will remain true!!! ^w^

@Fluffy_inc: Thank you, Fluffy! I'm still very reluctant to draw on the switch. It just seems so foreign and just can't get over the stylus. But there are a bunch of new artists here who are familar and comfortable drawing on the switch and making their own amazing art. I didn't mention it before, but I really like another thought you had: that with time and practice you can get used to it. Hopefully, it does end up being my thing. Not gonna lie, all those tools you mention sound amazing! The amount of times I wished for a move tool! TuT

@Dynoluva Thank you so much! She's a special kiddo. X)
I completely get that. Even though I was awfully quiet on here most of the time, I'm still grateful to have been able to meet some really wonderful people and learn so much about art and interacting with others in general!
I hope to still be able to see more of your art in the future, even if it's somewhere else!
@Puzzled
I totally get that! The stylus is pretty funky.
I hope we can both stick with it and get the hang of it! It'll just take some time and experimenting to find what we like about it. ^v^
