I dunno quite myself, but I took my base sketch and duplicated it twice and made the colors of the three layers, red, blue, and green.
I then used the select & move tool to up-size one layer, and down-size another.
Does this help?

I did it by duplicating my layer with the original sketch, and then layer locking them so that I could change the line art color.
I made the layers blue, red, and green, and then used the select & move to scale the different layers up and down so that the different colors could be seen.
