been bullied all his life (the ppl didnt like that has control over evil n death, so they resented him)

the ppl kiIIed his wife, n they gave Ally to the oldest minor goddess, Hikaru
he tried to do the exact same thing she did to him
so she cast him down to earth, cursed w a masked that locked his spirit inside of it, n it also works as a thing to keep him from entering heaven

as he redeems himself very slowly, parts of the mask breaks n falls off, symbolising hes slowly changing.
