I don't understand why people feel the need to hate on artists on here who trace. I also don't understand why those same people comment "traced" on paintings that are OBVIOUSLY traced. Like, yeah, Sherlock. We know. There's literally a camera icon, and we can watch the playback. You don't need to share your 'professional advanced' knowledge on tracing. Also, commenting 'traced' isnt going. To. Help. Anything.
And, sure. It's traced. But coloring takes talent, too.

The Colors! Gallery moderators will look at it as soon as possible.

But that also doesn't mean I'm encouraging plagiarism. If you do trace someone else's art, then give them credit- and it's not a big deal.

respectfully i disagree, most tracers i've see on here over the years do not give credit and do not say that they've traced. to some people it might be obvious that they're tracincg but i've seen lots of people on here comment on traced art and praise the poster, clearly not recognizing its traced
while tracing and coloring does require a little bit of skill to do without it being sloppy, and tracing itself does have benefits to learning how to draw in other styles, (continued)

if you want to actually grow as an artist then it can't be the only thing you ever do
i have little issue with someone posting traced art if they give credit to the actual artist and say they traced it!! i just see so much traced art on here that is Not credited and it bothers me. and it probably bothers other people too, which is likely why you see people commenting "traced" on obviously traced art
i think another issue that people dont acknowledge is how the original artist feels (continued)

about having their work traced and reuploaded, usually without permission. i know i would feel uncomfortable if someone traced my art and uploaded it to somewhere without asking me first, ESPECIALLY without giving me credit. giving artists credit is very important. getting artist consent to essentially reupload their content is also very important. most tracers do not go looking for the original artist to give them credit, and even fewer actually ask permission to do it. the tracer gets love,--

but not the original artist who probably spent hours of work on the original drawing
sorry for the whole essay, i just feel really strongly about tracing, art theft, and giving artists credit. not mad at u or anything like that /gen, i just felt it was important to share what i think are valid concerns about traced artwork
