#AjcrOriginal #Switch3D
It's been a while since I did a spacescape painting. This is the first one I've done on Switch, so I'm able to use new tools this time.
#SpaceScape #Planet #Nebula
The Colors! Gallery moderators will look at it as soon as possible.

For the earth, I started with a large blue dot sbout the size and position I wanted, used the Lighten tool with the color set to greenish blue where I wanted the off camera sun light to hit the water surface, then used the Darken tool along the other edge to create depth, and used a basic brush to highlight the edge where I thought the bright background star's light would shine the most. Next, I made some islands on another layer, and began using the eraser tool to trim the edges where I thought shore lines, gulfs, and lakes might be, and then cleaned and sharpened the edges. I then alternated the Lighten and Darken tool with the color set to various shades of green and yellow on the islands until I was satisfied with the result, before merging the island layer to the ocean layer. I then used the Lighten/Darken tools a bit more to refine the lights and darks until I was satisfied with the result. I finished by adding cloud with the soft brush, and lightening the edges where I though sunlight would reflect off the clouds.
For the stars, I speckled the screen in a small area a few times with random dots, then copied the star layer and proceeded to stretch and rearrange the copied stars sporadically until the space as filled with stars scattered randomly throughout.

I remember when these were a trend many years ago on the site I visited. Very well done! It is a challenging genre!

@MaggieSue327
It really isn't too difficult once you've got it figured out. This only took me less than 3 hours to do. I had it finished after just a couple sessions. Most of my other projects take between 15-20 hour hours, or two or more weeks worth of hour-long sessions.
