how they separated (classic): after beating eggman nega in the new death egg in sunny the catfox sunny manages to escape, while eggman nega manages to trap him and send him to a darker dimension.

quick cameo (modern): moonly appears running in floating platforms in the sky, those are special stages.

how we met (again(modern)): i get flung off and i fall down to your location, starting to get corrupted too.
