What is it about the eye that we love so much? I've heard it said tat they eye is the window to the soul. Could it be that we are looking for something there? Perhaps it is the detail of the iris that captures the heart?

@BHPineapple yes, the video is great! I would encourage folks to watch it. The initial layout is very clean (and color coded!). Very organized.
The latticework of lines put in for texture reminds me a bit of the crinkle texture that Gaz_bell lays down under many of his paintings, though more structured in this case.

Strong use of dark and light values as well.
The edges are all well done.
Very interesting process, and a great result.
By the way, you need not if you don't want to, but consider using the #rdcontest tag so that more people are inspired by the piece to do realism!
