There will always be some stuggle when painting fine details. Straight lines, smooth curves, lights and shadows, contrast, highlights, facial expressions.. "do they match the atmosphere?" "is the mood correct for the theme?"

Personally, I often find myself working on something for over an hour in ne session, only to be disapointed with the progress, and end up hitting 'discard changes', and retrying from my last save (checkpoint).
The struggle is real
But the result is worth it.

I would like to point out the two light sources in this painting:
a lantern near the bottom.
and
a window.

Light coming in through the window will be subtle, cool colored, and diffused, where as light from the lantern will be more bright and concentrated. Do you see how that creates atmosphere and mood?
BiniBean here has truly mastered the craft.

I apologize if my comment left you feeling called out. That was not my intention. I was simply explaining the struggle from a personal perspective. In hind sight, I was speaking for myself. BiniBean's struggles might be different from mine.
I'll try to be more concise about my intentions, and considerate of others when I reply like that, especially as a 3rd person.
