The problem is the anatomy. I think you were trying to make him look like he's looking over his shoulder, but instead he looks like he's facing you with an awkwardly raised arm...
A person's back is structured very differently than their front. It's harder to describe it in words, but if you take a look at the human skeleton, you'll notice the spine curves out around the shoulder blades and dips in around the abdominal area in an almost S-like shape. Keep this in mind whem drawing a person's back.
In this sense, a person's muscle and flesh should follow the shape of their spinal chord.
