2023 where to find me by Dragonologist

i very sometimes check my colors account only to discover new comments and likes every once in a while eventhough i havent posted since idk 2019? I thus decided to update the info on where to find me for people that want to see my new art! Because i most likely wont return here. Drawing on my 3DS feels clunky as heck now and i havent really tried it on my switch. So ye find me elsewhere

Woah! You're still alive too huh?
Personally, I've moved on to Switch. It was the cheapest, yet best portable option for me, seeing as I do most of my drawing time away from home. I've been considering making an account somewhere else and trying to make a name for mysef there, but I'm really not much of a social network kind of person. I miss the glory day of Colors though.

On that note, I was thinking of doing a little series here, and calling it "Colors Legacy" where I introduce all the new comers to many of the incredibly talented artists of yester year, most of whom have since faded into obscurity. I was thinkng of including you and many others like FadingGlory, KJumper, RadiantRainDragon, and many more in the "Mythical creature artists" category. What are your thoughts on that?

@The_Adjudicator Yes I live! My primary way of doing art now is in clipstudio on my huion screentablet! I also have an ipad with procreate but honestly im not too fond of using it for that, drawing on ipad feels weird. I also kinda miss the glory days of colors, but i have found new and amazing friends outside of it and also have been finding community on tumblr and bluesky! It's really wonderful. Also your colors legacy idea sounds super cool! I would totally be okay with that! Even though i think the art on this account is pretty clunky compared to my new art but it was where i made my beginnings so i also still love it. Maybe I will try drawing on my switch some time, I do have the app and the pen. I havent tried it since the beta so who knows maybe ill like it

Oh right. I saw that you replied from my notifications, and quickly skimmed through, but didn't have time at that moment to chain reply.

I've considered expanding to other platforms aside from Colors to make a name for myself on bigger sites. I'll sonsider some of the sites you mention here, and take a look at your newer handiwork there while I'm at it.

ColrsLive has, unfortunately, fallen from grace. I'm doing what I can to breathe new life into it, but it's proving fruitless.

@The_Adjudicator If you want to try out different sites I would recommend you stay away from instagram (horrible image quality and full of bots) and twitter/X (elon musk is running it into the ground)

Tumblr is my favorite place, it's very chill and posts circulate for a long time. Can be hard to get noticed though if you mostly do original art.

Toyhouse is where I keep all my kids (my ocs) and their art and some lore though most lore is kept in my head

Discord is where I hang out with my friends but i prefer to keep to my own server. It's very fun to worldbuild and talk ocs together as well as send memes and show of art and all that

Bluesky is pretty new and the vibes are very chill. Lets hope it stays that way. It needs an invite code though, as does toyhouse but i got codes available for both so if you want i could give you some

Inkblot is a site that aims to replace dA but it only has a small team so it's still a lil wonky. Has a nice community though :)

So yeah thats the rundown of the places im at

It's sad colorslive has fallen to ruin.. I had a lot of fun on here in my childhood. Though it was far from perfect. So much drama happened on here too, just kids and teens running wild with barely any moderation. But it was where i first discovered my community of artists so I am still very grateful to what it did for me

Sorry that was a huge ramble okdhkgdfhdg

Bluesky and Inkblot sound like they would be good to look into. I'll aslo consider Tumblr, but I do prefer smaller communities.
If Bluesky requires an invite, I'll leave it to your jurisdiction to whom you share those. I do appreciate the offer, and would do my best to put it to good use.

I have a friend who sggested Instagram to me, but knowing that it has low image quality doesn't help that case. Not that I was interested in the first place.

ColorsLive on Switch has one thing going for it, to me at least, and that is a unique and underutilized feature to view the layers seperately, simulating Colors3D in a way. I've talked a little with this sites moderator about making that feature more accessible in fullscreen mode, but it needs more traction for them to make that level of change in the system. I've made a couple sample GIF's that I could potentially share on other sites, but they aren't interactive like Colors is.
