It's always a delight to see humming birds fly across the area in front of me. : ) They're also a fascinating study subject. I watched a science documentary several years ago where they used an X-ray and a high speed camera to study the inner workings of a humming bird in flight, and made quite the discovery when observing how the nectar they've already consumed was being used in the bird's body as a counter balance when hovering.

@The_Adjudicator. That is fascinating! They must have a way to control location within the body? Or just adjust the rest of the body around the amount consumed?

Maybe. I think it's just the nature of their evolution. I've watched a number of video essays done studying humming birds. They're very unique.
