A bit of practice getting out of my comfort zone.
I want to add more to it, but feel like the emptiness and roughness add to the mood and feel of the picture.
So I'll leave it as is.

Honestly with these, I just tried to mentally picture what wings would look like at these angles.

I used a low opacity with the select fill tool to put the base color. Then I used low opacity classic brush to add the extra color and shading.
Other than that, I made sure most of my colors leaned more in to the gray side.
