Pokemon tends to have such grea still-life artwork. It's so tragic that the mainline games tend to cut back a bit of quality in the animation department. I call for Monster Hunter Stories as a shining example of what Pokemon could look like with a little bit more attention to deail.

@Koraidon Game, app, platform, digital art processing tool... It's all the same thing. Colors is all of that. Even more specifically, I drew this on the 3DS version of Colors.

@AtomicNomic I'm so glad to see Chikorita getting some more love. I love all the Johto starters, honestly. They're my favorite set of starters. But I have to say Totodile is my favorite, which is one of the main reasons I decided to draw this.

Usually, a cat on my lap would be calming and destressing when I'm drawing, but...MY cat constantly begs for attention, and when I stop petting, I feel like the worst being in existance because he looks at me with these big, round eyes that you can't possibly say "no" to...

@The_Adjudicator Yeah, I don't play many other games besides Pokemon, but even I notice Pokemon's drop in quality when playing/looking at other games... It's a shame, really. Pokemon is still my favorite franchise to this day, and I feel like it's mostly because of its world-building. If it didn't have lore and such great character design, I have to wonder if I'd keep coming back...

But even the lore/story-telling has plummeted a little in the recent titles of Scarlet and Violet. With Koraidon and Miradon, specifically. I'm just not impressed with them. Ogrepon is great, though. With so much backstory, she feels more alive.

Haha, just kidding. I just like refining and rendering things a lot. Probably why I can't stand my own sketches because they feel incomplete to me.

I mostly drew this for background practice, haha. You caught me. But I also just love the art in general. I'm surprised it took me as long as it did to draw.
