@Mewsea yes, you can feel sorry for the little leaf. Of course some think that the smell of fresh cut grass is actually a distress signal by the plant, so perhaps it is not completely unwarrented!
It is definitely a challenge to convey mood with value and color.
@gray_rose1121 there is a time displayed in the gallery for paintings. This was 2 hours and 17 minutes. I took a break from painting for 4 months when I was drawing every day for months paintings would go a bit more quickly. But I enjoy the process.

The colors are so dark in grim in this piece...which is appropriate, given the title.
Funny how art can give life/feelings to an otherwise inanimate object.
