The Freedom Fighters had been searching Comet ever since they were reported missing. But apparently they had been in hiding under the base. And because Comet couldn't get out in time, they got completely effected by the radiation. But unlike all the others, the Freedom Fighters have Comet contained with them, hidden from the scientists.
