@Gaz: Yeah I remember hating portraits when I first started doing them. I think you just have to force yourself to do it until it starts feeling more natural. I think I've said it to you before but if you put as many hours into one of your portraits as you do with your landscapes it would look just as good, if not better

@tall73: Hope you had a nice break. It's very rare for me to feel inspired to draw anymore but I'm making the most of it while it lasts.
This is a portrait of a real person, lead singer of my favourite band

@Acchan: I try to keep my digital art as close to my traditional art as I can. It's just easier for me if I can follow a similar process for both of them

@Edd-kissrr: They're my favourite band too. Every album just feels different and exciting. With most other bands I get bored of them after a few albums but not bmth

Went back and watched the replay multiple times. This is a very ambitious piece, with the hand, face and the ink. Getting that initial lay-in where you simplified all those details and got the form was great, and then you built it up tone by tone.
And since it is a band this is one that can build up your Instagram again as well!
