answer to your first question: sleep paralysis happens when the sleep cycle is shifting between stages or when i go to bed at a different time than usual.

answer to your second question: a sleep paralysis episode can happen at anytime. usually for me it happens around 1-3:00 in the morning.

answer to your third question: normally my brain paralyzes many of my muscles during the stage of REM's. (giving sleep paralysis its name)
