It's an illusion of the contrast variety. Compared to the red, the purple appears blue. Vise-versa when comparing purple to blue. This one causes a lot of eye strain, so to compensate, your mind adjusts what it sees slightly for greater clarity.
It is believed that dep green and gold are great for getting maximum contrast, with minimum eye strain.

So I did. I meant *deep green.
Sometimes the keyboard doesn't register a double tap, and sometimes I miss a word here and there when spell checking.
