I've been doing well. Colors has changed a lot over the years. There's new features including a notifications tab, and a "weekly artist" in the news along side the weekly challenge.

"Winged Pikmin" is my favourite realism. Thank you for your blessed post.

hairless cats are very cuddly but the have kind of a bad reputation ive alays wanted one and thats why

Thank you so much :D I spoiled myself recently a little bit buying myself a Switch OLED model, Colorslive, and a Sonar pen to go with it. The pinks in this one are super vibrant on the OLED screen *u*

It always nice to spoil oneself ones in awhile! And besides you get to spoil all of us to!!
Most the time I view things on my phone, but I'll definitely make sure to fire up my Switch to see this with all its true glory! :D

how do you use reference images?

I look at a seperate screen on the side, like pulling up an image search on Google using my smartphone, or from my PC. I then try to match what I see on that screen by drawing it as close as I can to the original, or in other cases just makng sure key details are drawn in correctly.

The painting was titled: A Warm Welcome
It was fan art for Ori and the Will of the Wisps. I wanted to paint Kwolok, and by sheer coincidence, the project matched the theme of the weekly challenge I finished it on.

Don't worry, I'm beyond the point of downplaying my personal troubles, I did that a lot as a teen and in my very early 2Os but I know better now. And thank you :)

I've learned that I notice and remember more details if I focus study on something that I want to draw, take a picture of it, then start by trying to draw in from memory. Then I use the photo reference to compare what I remember to what is actually there, then draw the photo.

This method may take two or more takes, but the second or third tke will always be better than the first.

Don't be afraid to delete your art..

By that, I mean it's okay to restart from scratch, or your last save point. If you feel like you could do better next time, take a little break and try again later.

Take some time to study textures. Different materials reflect/absorb light in different ways. Try to practice different textures whenever you would like to try something new. Be experimental.

Thank you. : ) Looking back at this, I can think of some small changes I'd apply to the glass to give it better transparency. As it is here, it's got too much black over the white background. But the metalic and glass textures are my favorites none-the-less. : )
