I'm 23 and I've been out to friends and family as gay for years. I've gotten love, hate, and indifference. Amidst it all I know theres nothing wrong with love between two people. And everyone is entitled to their opinions, whether overzealous, or completely supportive. Or in between. Gay isn't an insult. When people use derogatory terms at me, I just say, "I thought you already knew that about me." and laugh it off. DONT HATE FORNICATE

I never will understand how "gay" was translated to "dumb". Makes no sense. I'm a Mormon. I'm not a gay-hater. I have a few gay friends. And they're great people. I just don't support the gay part of them. When they mention a boyfriend, I just ignore and move on. Respect people, people.

Words can evolve to have different meanings the longer we use them, y'know? Saying that something is gay is completely different from calling someone gay. If you have a problem with people saying it, just ignore them, because chances are they're not going to stop.

^This painting has nothing to do with what gender you like, but about redefining a word (in this case gay). Picture it this way: Imagine I said that straight means direct and not crooked, as in a straight line or "tell it to me straight" and that straight therefore means something good and not bad. Just like with gay, the dictionary would back me up on this. You wouldn't then say, so, if you're not straight, you're bad or dumb? Just because one word means something good doesn't mean all other words are suddenly redefined. Gay means happy or joyous, so, to say something is gay is like saying it's great. So, even people attracted to the opposite gender can be "gay" just as someone attracted to their own gender can be "straight" by saying something directly or "telling it straight."

One Thing:Teasing isn't bullying, it's an everyday normal thing. Everyone has teased someone or talked behind their back before. If everyone's a bully, no one is. Bullying is stealing from and hurting someone else. Not hurting feelings, but their body.

Another Thing: Don't get all "You're a prejudiced jerk!" on me now but I don't like it when (my ex-friend) people just flaunt that part of themselves around. You don't see straight people going "I LIKE WOMEN, WOO HOO FOOTBALL!" My ex friend Jake came out and started talking differently and dressing differently...If you were serious about your $exual appeal, you wouldn't let it change who you were. When I said something to Jake he replied, "Being gay is not something to be ashamed of." You shouldn't be ashamed of it but you shouldn't go around making sure everybody knows. Let people who care about you and your business know, not the whole world.

First, physical pain heals much faster than emotional pain. In fact, emotional scars often last a lifetime. Too long, people have repeated the lie "sticks and stones will break my bones but words will never hurt you," so long in fact that many people believe it. A person is who they are INSIDE. That is what is hurt emotionally and can never be touched physically.

I'm sorry that you and Jake aren't still friends. Maybe you two will work through your differences and become friends again. After all, you can never have too many friends! Also, consider that he might have wanted to dress that way for a long time, but not felt comfortable doing so until he finally stopped hiding who he is. And, yes, MANY straight males flaunt their "straightness" by being macho and butch and trying to never show their emotions. Girls show off their bodies and flirt openly with guys. Really, he's probably WAY less out there than the straight people you know. It's just that his attractions bother you. I feel that you could probably work through this if you and he can become friends again though. Everyone deserves a second chance.

Also, maybe you can try explaining to him how you feel like he changed so much that it was like losing the friend you once thought you knew so well. It was like he wasn't the person you knew and that bothered you. Ask if he just started revealing who he was always inside or if he felt like he was supposed to change. Maybe he's looking for a boyfriend and wants available guys to know he's "on their team" so to speak.

Background info, I came out as Pan like a month and a half before this takes place, but I had this bracelet with the pan colors with beads and it said Pan-cake, made by my friend after I came out. I was at my mom's hair app. because i had a doctor app. and i....

...Got a concussion, and i had the bracelet on, but my mom hd no idea. She saw it and asked "what the hell is that!?!?" I dont say anything, so she googles it herself, and figures out i am pan. She asks me to define it, so I do. It is where I like all genders You could be male, female, nonbianary, genderfluid, ect. I also tell her that some people see it like gender blindness. But apparently to her that is the exact same thing as bi, so I tell her the difference, and I tell her I am not bi. So..

..she decides to keep calling me bi whenever she brings it up. Then wen I do something she does not like she will be like, i know your secret, in front of my dad, who does not know, then she has the nerve to tell my grandma who reacts the same exact way with the same exact speech. I hate people sometimes.
