She cannot shift into this at will. she only shifts into this in severe situations. Losing melody did a number on her. Luckily, this wont happen again.

Their weapons are blessed silver, and they have giant sun mirrors... not to mention Solstice, a punishment for Twili and Shae alike... very few come back from that. I was lucky the first time..

Dark, staring down: ...It was cold. More monsters and beasts and things than ever... torture devices all along the walls... one of the guards spotted me through sheer luck. One of the cages came down... Ganon stepped over... I dont want to repeat what he said. Led me to his room so we could talk "like a family" but... *shudder* I... I dont want to continue... he gave me more beatings. More cracks. More scars... I never want to return... cant anyway..
