Sorry if I didn't understand the first two comments you made very well,
but if you want to do lineless art the best technique (that works for me at least) is to draw out what you want with thin line art, color it in and then erase the lines. Lowering the opacity of the line art a lot can work as well.
It's also advisable to make the colors of each part distinct from eachother, for example the neck can be a little darker than the head so the head and the neck don't blend together.
