I've shared it long time ago on the discord, but lemme post it here. Not #tutorial just explanation #how2do my artworks:
1. Concept
Sometimes a flash of inspiration suddenly comes, so i sketch it immediately (...or just on "wip" folder-forever.)
2. Browsing
Because i'm not genius so i always rely on the internet for references, find the easy one, especially that has same angle that i want.
3. Photobash
If it's too complex or hard to imagine between my rough sketches and references i use ibis paint to help. Little bit need editing skills here, doesn't have to be so smooth, at least the most importance is scales between one and another.
4. "Redraw" it
Beside for composition, grid lines also useful for this, so it can be more precise with the original reference.
Sounds simple but take a break every 20-30minutes is important rather than 24 hours straight painting (also to avoid saving failure bug).
Upload it privately and check it on other devices to see if there's something off and need to be fixed.
The Colors! Gallery moderators will look at it as soon as possible.

@_-Apple-Jack-_ thx
@Marlee9910 what apps do you use? Usually there's features for that.
If you want more simple, search images "grid lines png" on Google, download it layer it on your pic reference.
Or make it by yourself whatever you want using pixel brush (on Colors), upload it, download it (on phone) and layer it on your reference.

***In my latest Zelda artwork i use 6 references for that; base images from original game screenshot, lighting composition on the face, hairstyle, sword, left hand pose, right hand(that actually left hand that i flipped it).

This is a really useful guide! I've wanted to draw from imagination forever but I can never get past the thumbnail stage

@Marlee9910 if manually, you can make squares grid on the sketchbook, 3x3 or 4x3 etc, and use pixel brush same with your sketches, lowering opacity on the layer, and draw below that.
@mcollins no need to exaggerate it :O
Use AI is the answer :D
