ive seen some therians say they became a therian as a result as tra*ma however im not sure how accurate this is. the biggest claim i see for being therian is having been an animal in a past life and were reborn human.
the scientist in me is conflicted in the sense there really isn't proof on a therian brain, however, minimal research has been done and a lot of therians say they experience species dyshporia, which makes me believe more research is needed on that specifically. shifting is (cont)

when a therian shifts into their animal mindset. shifting may or may not be voluntary, too.
with that said therians definitely intrigue my science side and i may look into what it would take to run a larger scale test to find out what exactly could set therians apart. there may not be anything going on psychologically, though, and it could be just a spiritual belief.

past lives are just a personal belief, like how paganism is for me.
i highly doubt there is any difference in a therian brains structure unless in the rare case they were experiencing species dysphoria but we would only see the portions of a brain affect by the dysphoria though (most likely)
personally i see being therian as a mostly spiritual thing, which is fine and perfectly valid
as a scientist im still pretty conflicted over what evidence there is since spiritual experiences dont (cont)

either way therians are still cool and deserve respect and are always welcome on my profile
I hope to learn more about them as id love to form a scientific opinion on them for others to learn more
