#rdcontexpl The Realism Discussion group was started on the Colors Discord to encourage people to attempt realistic painting. There were many fantastic realistic paintings in the early days of Colors, and we wanted to see that revived.
Since then we have encouraged realistic painting in the Colors gallery through giving feedback, encouragement, and holding the #rdcontest.
For some time the #rdcontest focused on specific challenges. But recently we entered a new era, encouraing people to post any type of painting using realistic painting techniques.
Just use the tag #rdcontest on a painting that uses realism techniques and if it catches our eye you too could win a superlike! If your painting receives a superlike it is featured in a special gallery for Switch and PC Beta users, and helps your work get more attention.
But even apart from winning a superlike, trying realism is a fun challenge. And posting using the #rdcontest tag helps more people see your work.
