Regarding your description above, they're doing this because they can make more money. By vaulting the games on the wiiu/3ds e-shop, they can make you pay for them on Switch. For example, I don't own Majoras Mask, but I want too, I can buy it for 30 on the eshop, OR i can rent it with NSO expansion pack, I have to keep paying them in order to play, instead of just owning it. and they can re-launch games on Switch for more expensive, because there will be nowhere else to get that game. Nintendo-

I assume they do it so they can resell them on switch, and since the games will be unpurchasable, The 3ds userbase will start to wane and it wont be as controversial when they inevitably shutdown the servers... I agree with you, it sucks :(

you buy a game that is on digital but then you drop your switch or other ways that it can break.you kinda wasted your money.

@_SVP3RST4R_ You may be right, but ports aren't usually seen as major titles so I think its possible. Also, if I remember correctly the last few games made for 3ds were ports I believe (Kirbys extra epic yarn, Mario & Luigi, etc) But they could port them on the new console aswell.

@Heroine-of-Winds Yeah, a lot of games are guaranteed to be lost because of it, but what can you do? On the topic of games that probably wont be ported, I highly recommend Ever Oasis, its really fun :o

:/ this also means the network for the 3DS will be shut down in a few years closing the e-shop is always the last thing they do before that happens

yes the internet access it happened with the DSi once they closed the e-shop the network was then was shut down a few years later it's what happens to old game systums and phoms as new ones come out

i know it's sad but there is still time to enjoy the 3DS they didn't shut down the DSi network till two or five years after it's e-shop was closed however i can't say we'll have the same with the 3DS
