Take off a tag that "belongs" to somebody else if they ask you.
Hashtags are little things but people use them to organize and give references for their stuff. Since there's really no other way to do that just be polite and remove tags that people use for those reasons when they ask you to.

Yes, the thing I worry about since the dawn of my account. Yes, it's okay to use it but ONLY with the artist's permission, mostly if it's fanart. If there's little to nothing about that tag or you're asked by the OT (Original Tagger) then please just take it off. This is gonna just lead to frustration, especially if it isn't yours.

I've been asking one person for over a week now and they still haven't taken it off.
And then when you get fanart and they use one of your personal tags but it's fanart and you worry you'll sound rude-
