@Peripheral_Pillar *huge rant* idk why but i keep thinking all of my bl..dy friends doesn't like me anymore i saw a tiktok before about being a backup friend and i somehow related to it and at school, there's this girl who's best friends with my best friend and she keep pushing me away from them and i having a huge feeling like nobody really likes me anymore i'm switching high schools and all the kids at my new hgh school are way much better then them *cont*

@lucillesdepressed Yeah, being with friends at that age is super important or at least feels that way. Even paid psychologists admit that we are social creatures. While I would not trust anything on TikTok as 100% factual (it almost definitely wasn't made by someone with a respected degree in human behavior) I can relate to the idea of backup friends being a real thing. I wish I could offer advice on what to do about your friends but I would have to know an extremely complicated web of social ~
~ quirks to even know what is going on. I can 100% say that you are experiencing feelings that are quite valid. Most, if not all, people want to feel accepted in some kind of social circle. And beyond that we want a little time in the spotlight of that circle so we feel that we are contributing or respected enough to have the others listen to us. I will try to think on this more to come up with any ideas of something that you'd be able to do to at least feel a little better. I hope you can keep~
~ your spirits up until something has a chance at being different. Good luck, and I will still be here if you need to say more about anything, even if it is just about a favorite movie.
@lucillesdepressed I can imagine a deal amount of many things. But I will not claim to actually sense any person's feelings totally. But should we start off with questions? Is there a movie or movie character that you feel like you relate to more than most people around you?
@Peripheral_Pillar well there's this show on netflix called family reunion and it's like a sitcom about a black-race family and i relate to it in a funny way bc it's like families go through struggles aswell but also they try to make it very lighthearted so nobody is like sad if you know what i mean
@lucillesdepressed I have almost started to forget some common sitcom tropes. But humor is actually a really strong coping mechanism that people have had since prehistory. It is not always accepted, but it can really help at times. It is also good for grabbing attention. If you are seeing someone's eyes glaze over when you are discussing the flavor of your favorite pennies, then a joke statement about something immediately related might snap their focus back so you can finish your statement.
@lucillesdepressed One can gain wisdom by making sure their mind stays open while experiencing many life trials so that their viewpoint stays open instead of narrowed onto just theirself. That allows you to create a nice, smooth custard pie of thoughts. But since you cannot experience all things everywhere, you will get an uneven and cracked custard surface. It can still be a good custard, but if someone wants to judge it then they can point out all the imperfections. But with ~
@lucillesdepressed ~ enough intelligence, you can add a layer of whip cream to the custard that covers the unevenness and cracks. That makes it look acceptable to even more people. And now I'm wanting pie. Nom...
@Peripheral_Pillar i absolutely agree, with society being toxic nowdays, it's surprising how people like to pick out the smallest mistakes to push that person down, even though it have nothing to do with it.
@lucillesdepressed *Offers a slice of lemon custard wisdom with the typical whip cream intelligence coating or a slice of peach wisdom with a scoop of vanilla ice cream intelligence.*
@Peripheral_Pillar here's the thing, i don't really play a lots of game because of school and everything that's happening in my life but recently i took a look around the e-shop and found tis game called 'piconter' i'm not sure about the game but it looks very aesthetically pleasing!
@lucillesdepressed Yeah, I've also been too busy to play anything big this year. Piconier Looks like Zelda: Link to the Past and Stardew Valley meeting in the middle between adventure and life sim. A game that came out a long while ago that I've been thinking about is Henchman Story, a choices matter visual novel about being a henchman of a super villain.
@Peripheral_Pillar if you're talking about music, i oftentimes listen to k-pop but if you're talking about entertainment people watch on yt, it's really weird what i watch because i watch like too many things but mainly like gameplays of games i like.
@lucillesdepressed Just wondering if it would be music, movies, video games, television/streaming, baking, painting, books, or whatever else. I usually spend my time researching games of the past.
@lucillesdepressed For my country's Independence Day, I was too tired to throw boxes of tea into a harbor and instead threw some tree leaves into a puddle.
@lucillesdepressed So do you follow any certain k-pop bands? I know that I've listened to some of it, but I have not found a particular group that I search for.
@lucillesdepressed I will look those up next time I'm at a computer and remember. One is called "NewJeans" and that just reminded me I need to buy some pants sometime this month. Btw, I saw that you followed me, which I appreciate, shall I follow you as well?
@lucillesdepressed So I watched the video for "Super Shy" by "JeansIWannaBuy" and didn't feel amazed by it, which I expected from its title. Are there particular songs you feel I should listen to for their best stuff?
@Peripheral_Pillar "Super Shy" was their recent upload, I think- I recommend you watching "OMG", "Ditto" and "Hype Boy"! They're NewJeans' greatest hits!
@lucillesdepressed Okay, so I watched OMG and Ditto since I was able to remember their names. OMG was pretty good all around. Ditto had very nice visual appeal, but the music was almost something I tuned out.
@kimbxrlyy_ So I watched the "Super Shy" practice dance video by DirtyJeans. I liled it better than tye actual video. Although it definitely wasn't basic practice. And being able to hear the sounds of their shoes on the floor was meat since I had never heard that before.
@kimbxrlyy_ I remember you mentioning watching sitcoms. Do they still have the laugh tracks that play during comical parts? Cause I remember some trivia about all those pre-recorded audience sounds. The TV industry has been reusing the same sounds of laughter and other noises that were recorded from people, probably 30 years old back then, since the 1930's and 40's. So most, if not all, of the people who made those sounds are long gone. You've been listening to d3d people laugh at your shows.
@kimbxrlyy_ You might already know this, but "sitcom" is just a shortening of "situational comedy" and its only required format is a cast of recurring characters in situations involving comedy. Doesn't even have to be live acted as the first sitcoms were radio programs. So I wonder how many anime now fit comfortably into the definition of sitcom.
@kimbxrlyy_ Trying to look up a little info on K-Pop. Like when looking up most "firsts" it gets down to defining what whatever thing it is that makes it the "first." But the two most common dates I saw mentioned was 1992 with the group "Seo Taiji and Boys" or 1987 group "SoBangCha" which I have never heard of either group. But K-Pop is apparently really new, with many of the "firsts" still around.
@mariieee Hey, so I know you're gone now, but I'll try to keep motivated to write messages on here to give you something to read. Jokes or facts mostly. You won't yave to respond.
"When you get a bladder infection, urine trouble."
@mariieee There was a carnivorous and amphibious species of whale known as Archaeoceti. It had feet and is even considered to have toes that it used to roam on land.in northern Africa. It has been extinct for some time.
@mariieee Australia has a large desert. Thus it used to import camels from the Arabian Peninsula. Now Australia has enough camels to export them back to the Arabian Peninsula.
@mariieee The oldest "yo mama" joke found was on a 3500 year old fragment of a tablet. It was written in Akkadian in ancient Babylon. The entire text was never found and with transaltion of a dead language, slang terms, and differences in culture we're unsure as to exactly what was said. But it was indeed a joke referencing someone else's mother and it was lewd.
@nozumii The "Rusty-Spotted Cat" is the smallest wild cat species. They are just over a foot long (not including the tail) and I swear I cannot find a single picture of one tha5 does not look like a kitten (or very newly out of the kitten phase), so I guess the pictures are of adults.
@nozumii Arachibutyrophobia is the fear of peanutbutter sticking to the roof of your mouth. Really? Is that common enough that we needed a word to describe just that? Can we at least apply it to anything against the roof of your mouth and not just peanutbutter?
From the other end of the spectrum, we have the word for a feeling. "Jouska" which decribes the -feeling- of an argument repeating in your head. I could have really used this word during most my life. I should remember it.
@nozumii The spiked dog collars that became a fashion trend for the "punk" aesthetic were invented by the ancient Greeks to give their dogs added protection against wolves.
@nozumii Why is Latin considered old and is put in so much science and fiction? Well, the earliest written example we have of latin dates to 600-700 BCE (BC). Thus it is one of the older Western languages that we.can almost fully read AND pronounce.
Egyptian is pretty much the oldest written language we can understand. And the oldest written story of fiction (instead of tax or land records or junk) was -probably- first written in Sumerian, but our earliest surviving records were in Akkadian.
@nozumii An Era is a long and vague-ish measure of time (shorter than an Eon but longer than a Period.) So far the Earth has had 4 Eras. The last Era (Mesozoic Era) ended about 65,000,000 years ago and encompassed the dinosaurs ruling the world. The current Era (65,000,000 years ago to today and beyond) is the Cenozoic Era. And if I remember correctly something I read at least a year ago, then modern *********** (our species) has only been around for 40,000 to 50,000 years.
@C4SSZ_D34D There is a fair amount of ice in space (coming off of comets or other sources) that gets trapped in the gravity of Earth. Many tons per day, in fact. So I guess that means that Earth is gaining water?
@C4SSZ_D34D Um... I ca't get myself to look up something and research it right now.
Oreos? Yeah, personal experience with Oreos. Someone gave me some "Swedish Fish" flavored Oreos once. It turned out to be the nastiest cookie I ever put in my mouth. At least I got to try something new and memorable.
@C4SSZ_D34D A tourist on a cruise ship could see a scrawny, long haired, bearded man with shredded clothes on the beach of an island. The man was jumping up and down, waving his arms, and shouting.
"Who is he?" the tourist asked the captain.
"I don't know. But he always acts like this when we pass him on this island every year,"
@C4SSZ_D34D Hey, still going to keep sending you things to read for as long as I can hold out so you'll have stuff to read about.
Tungsten (a neat metal) is about as heavy as gold, about as hard as a diamond, and does not even melt until iron has started to boil. Unless treated with special care, it is very brittle (if you can get it to snap in the first 0lace.) Its name is derived from older words meaning "heavy stone."
@C4SSZ_D34D A 1904 news article in the St. Louis Dispatch reported that farmer Silas Perkins of Iowa lost an eye when his prize winning duck exploded, supposedly from eating way too much yeast.
@C4SSZ_D34D A "jiffy" is a defined measurement of time. It is the amount of time it takes light to travel 0.39 inches in a vacuum (about 33.3564 picoseconds.)
