oooooh!! I love this alot!!! x'3 the cartoony look is really nice!! o w o it suits his goofy personality! u w u the only thing I think would be missing is maybe some clouds and tiny birds in the distance? He looks like he's casually walking across a roof top so maybe on bottom ends of the canvas you can have faded dark purple silhouetes of tips of christmas trees? they have a name but can't remember! :'D
@LEVENTHUMPZF4N Hmmm... I don't know. It's an interesting thought, though. I was inspired by a certain artist when I drew this. I wonder how they would have drawn this differently had they drawn it instead. Thanks for the constructive criticism!
@PoodleKingdom *glomps* That's not a bad idea, actually. If it weren't for the fact that I can't draw scenic backgrounds. X'D And I don't wanna use a reference 'cause I've been too lazy lately. Sooo...it is what it is.
@-_Cinnabunn_- Oh! I like cozy music too! I originally thought to draw him listening to music too, but nahhh.
x'D it's ok! for backgrounds like this though the trees can be a solid faded looking color! :O but it looks pretty good! I can't draw backgrounds very well either. ; v ;
I like the style! And that musical note looks perfectly shaped, wow! Missing a certain something? I'm sorry, but my mind immediately thought "cityscape!"
@Puzzled Heehee. You and Poodles both said the same thing. XD Alright, I think I know what you're talking about. I need to make the bg just as detailed as the character. But why, though? I've never had this feeling with any of my other art, and I've always use simple bgs with them... And why a cityscape, of all things? It's interesting how our minds jump to these conclusions. I must know why!
razrdraws You think so? It must be a balance issue. It feels like people are either saying Gojo's too detailed or the background's not detailed enough.
Again, I have to wonder... Why? I usually make my bgs quite simple and the characters more detailed and it's never bothered me until this picture... So, it leaves me to wonder if balance is really the issue here.
@Mewsea: I think for when I see the background, it reminds of a city because of the colors and where they are positioned. Purple is a common color for a night sky and the yellow around Gojo feels like a spotlight or just any manmade lightsource. Together? A walk at night in or near the city. Might also have to do with the area he is walking on. The background is so vague that it's open to interpretation. However the fact remains that he is walking on, uh, something. Maybe that connection to ground him is what is missing? Something like bits of grass or a rough side walk?

i myself saw it as more of a rooftop at sunset or sundown then a cityscape, lol
