And furthermore, is it possible for someone to corrupt the process, creating a negative version of a Chaos Emerald, a 'Black Emerald if you will, could something like that happen?

BTW, if you had a turtle in one of the slots, you could've had all 4 of the animals that make up the Chinese cardinal guardians in your roster.
